Medical Lab Technician Job in Idaho Falls, ID

You'll work as a Histology Technician at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, performing essential laboratory procedures in a day shift environment. This 13-week assignment offers you the opportunity to apply your expertise in a hospital setting where your skills directly support patient care.

Your Schedule and Assignment Details

• Day shift: 5:00 AM–1:30 PM or 9:30 AM–6:00 PM (flexible scheduling)
• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• 13-week duration
• No floating to other departments

Your Daily Responsibilities

• Log incoming tissue specimens
• Embed tissues using appropriate techniques
• Cut tissue sections for staining using microtomy
• Place slides on automated staining equipment
• File slides and cassettes according to protocol
• Operate and troubleshoot staining instrumentation

• Thermo Fisher Embedding system
• Thermo Fisher slide labelers
• Sakura H&E Stainer/Coverslipper
• Leica Microtomes

Required Qualifications

• HTL (Histology Technician Licensed) certification from ASCP
• Minimum 2 years hospital laboratory experience
• Demonstrated expertise in embedding, microtomy, and IHC procedures
• Experience with special stains and QIHC Immunohistochemistry stains
• Ability to troubleshoot programs and protocols independently

Compensation
