CVICU RN Job in Utica, NY

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for a travel position in the Cardiovascular Critical Care Unit (CVICU) at MVHS Inc. in Utica, NY. This 89-day assignment begins November 9, 2026, and offers competitive compensation of $2,556 weekly.

Position Overview

You will work 12-hour night shifts in a 6-bed Cardiothoracic ICU unit, providing direct patient care to individuals with complex cardiovascular conditions. This role requires experience with post-operative cardiac patients, including those recovering from fresh heart surgery.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled nursing care to patients in the immediate post-operative period and those with acute cardiac conditions
• Monitor hemodynamic status, manage invasive lines, and respond to rapid changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including cardiologists, surgeons, and intensivists
• Document care thoroughly in the EPIC electronic health record system

Requirements

• Current RN license in New York
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU or cardiothoracic nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing assignment experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Demonstrated proficiency with EPIC
• Willingness to work nights in a high-acuity environment

Unit Information

Common patient diagnoses include cardiovascular surgery, cardiogenic shock, and abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repairs. The unit specializes in post-operative cardiac care and management of acute decompensated heart failure. You will work within a 75-mile radius of the assignment location.
