About this role
You will work as an RN in a 33-bed ICU at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 3, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,384.64.
Shift and Schedule
You will work three 12-hour shifts per week on a day or night rotation. Day shifts run from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM; night shifts run from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM. You will be required to work every other weekend, with weekends defined as Saturday and Sunday. A minimum of two holidays will fall within your contract period. Self-scheduling is available within the core staff schedule, though block scheduling cannot be guaranteed. You will receive one shift of unit-specific orientation.
Clinical Responsibilities
The unit maintains an average daily census of 16 patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 for adult patients. Common diagnoses include trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose and substance abuse, adult sepsis, post-stent placement, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress.
Your responsibilities include:
- Titrating cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation medications
- Reading, interpreting, and documenting telemetry strips on the GE monitoring system with tech oversight
- Managing respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators and troubleshooting as needed
- Charting in the EPIC system
Floating may occur to PCU or occasionally Med-Surg with a typical ratio of 1:4 or 1:5. Nurse aides are available based on census; a Healthcare Support tech is available three days per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM). If placed on call and called back in, you must be able to arrive within 30 minutes.
Requirements
- Current RN license
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Valid driver's license
- Pass a pass/fail open-book exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
- Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
