PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 4x10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday with rotating start times as needed
• No weekends, no call, and no holidays required
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks
• Float within scope to PACU or PreOp units as needed
• 2 years of experience required, first-timers accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS; CCRN and TNCC preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Critical care experience and Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Must have experience with Phase I PACU, dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration
• Phlebotomy skills, starting IVs, IV vasopressors, and ICP monitoring required
• Care of ventilated patients experience required
• Must have experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia
• Experience with post cardiac surgery, lobectomy, chest trauma, exploratory laparotomy, splenectomy, and trauma patients required
• Night shift staff must learn preoperative patient workup procedures
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Patient population includes adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric patients
• Daily census: 70-90 patients in 38 patient bays
• High acuity PACU with 80% of patients being admitted to hospital after procedure/surgery
• Must pass Relias EKG exam
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility
• Maximum 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
