Operating Room RN Job in Big Spring, TX

Shannon Medical Center in Big Spring is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. This 91-day travel assignment begins June 29, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,563.20.

Schedule and Shift Details

• Work 4x10 hour day shifts
• Call rotation between two RNs with alternating weekly schedules (Monday, Tuesday, Friday–Sunday one week; Wednesday and Thursday the following week)
• Call responsibilities limited to general surgery and emergency cesarean sections
• Weekend coverage required

Role Responsibilities

• Serve as circulating nurse in the operating room
• Maintain 1:1 patient ratio during day shifts
• Support daily census of 4 patients across 4 operating rooms
• Work with adolescent, adult, and pediatric patient populations
• Operate Da Vinci Xi Surgical System and standard OR equipment

Clinical Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years of operating room experience with circulating background
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Proficiency in appendectomy, cesarean sections, cholecystectomy, circumcision, colon resection, hernia repairs, and laparoscopic procedures
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Epic charting system proficiency

Certifications and Training

• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• 40 hours of orientation provided
• Report to San Angelo location for first day, then resume contract in Big Spring
