Echo Technologist Job in Charleston, SC

MUSC Health – Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital is seeking an Echo Technologist to join its pediatric cardiology team. You'll perform echocardiograms on pediatric patients with complex congenital heart defects, working in a supportive clinical environment focused on specialized cardiac care.

Schedule & Location

• Monday through Friday, 5x8 shifts (8-hour days)
• Start times between 6:30 AM and 8:00 AM
• No weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements
• Float between Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital and SMP (North Charleston clinic) as needed
• Facility may call off approximately 1 shift per 2 weeks

The Role

• Daily caseload of 4–10 cases per technologist
• Perform comprehensive pediatric echocardiograms
• Assess complex congenital heart defects and pediatric cardiac pathology
• Enter full reports into PACS system
• Available for emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)

Requirements

• Registered Pediatric Sonographer (ARDMS) with PE certification or CCI with RCCS certification required at start
• Minimum 2 years of experience; first-timers accepted
• Proficiency with complex congenital heart defects and pediatric echocardiograms
• Extensive knowledge of complex heart disease and defects
• BLS certification required
• Experience with GE Vivid 95 ultrasound systems preferred
• Radiation badge not required

What to Expect

You'll complete approximately 4 hours of non-billable onboarding modules prior to your start date. This role offers the opportunity to build specialized expertise in pediatric cardiac sonography at a dedicated children's hospital within a major academic health system.
