About this role

LBH - Northwest Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. You will work 3x12 night shifts on an every other weekend and every other holiday schedule.

Role Overview:

You will care for patients across all age groups—neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics—in a 54-bed emergency department that sees approximately 120 visits per day. Patient ratios range from 1:4-6 in the general ED and 1:6 in the two locked behavioral health units. The department operates as a Primary Stroke Center (Gold Plus with AHA) and includes two rapid evaluation units for urgent and critical care needs. STEMI cases requiring cath intervention are transferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage and medical screening across all acuity levels
  • Manage arterial lines, central lines, and continuous IV sedation
  • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias; administer IV vasopressors
  • Perform procedural sedation administration and monitoring
  • Start and maintain IVs; administer blood products and phlebotomy
  • Apply isolation precautions and PPE appropriately
  • Care for patients in locked behavioral health units, supported by security
  • Float within the hospital as scope permits

Requirements:

  • Current RN license valid in Maryland or Compact state
  • 3 years of nursing experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
  • Prophecy Relias Advanced EKG certification required
  • CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) preferred
  • Completion of 4-hour annual stroke CEUs

Work Environment:

Navy blue scrubs. Charting via Cerner. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and interpretation services.

Assignment Details:

98-day contract starting July 20, 2026. Weekly pay: $2,332.80.
