Medical Technologist Job in Bryan, TX

CHI St Joseph Regional Health Care Center in Bryan, TX is seeking a Medical Technologist to join its Microbiology laboratory unit in an acute care setting. You will work a 7 on/7 off rotating schedule, Thursday through Wednesday, 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with the possibility of schedule adjustment to 1:00 PM to 12:30 AM during your contract period. Flexibility is required as your hours may change to accommodate operational needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Performing microbiology laboratory testing and plate reading
• Operating specialized equipment including Thermo Fisher Quant Studio 5, King Fisher, and Applied Biosystems systems
• Conducting manual pipetting and open platform PCR techniques
• Using the MEDITECH charting and EMR system
• Floating between Bryan and College Station campuses as needed (approximately 16 minutes apart)
• Working weekends and holiday shifts as required

This position requires no on-call duties, no phlebotomy responsibilities, and no lab supervisor or assistant duties. Your first week includes orientation Monday through Friday, beginning at 6:30 AM or 7:30 AM.

Required qualifications:

• ASCP certification
• BLS certification (AHA)
• MT or MLT credential (Certified Medical Laboratory Technician via AMT acceptable)
• Texas medical technologist license
• Experience in Microbiology, including plate reading

You will wear brown scrubs. This is an 84-week contract position starting October 5, 2026, with weekly compensation of $2,044. As an Allied Health Professional, you will contribute essential diagnostic and testing services in a fast-paced laboratory environment dedicated to patient care.
