Physical Therapist Job in Syracuse, NY

SUNY Upstate University Hospital – Downtown Campus is seeking a Physical Therapist for a day shift position in Syracuse, New York. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 15, 2026.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with one required weekend per month
• Weekly pay: $3,492.32
• Facility: Acute care hospital setting with ICU exposure

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy required
• New York State physical therapy license or license eligibility required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience required
• Acute care and ICU experience preferred
• Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance required

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the healthcare team and patients
• Implement therapeutic interventions according to established protocols
• Set specific, measurable treatment goals for each patient
• Document patient progress and prepare discharge records in a timely manner
• Participate in clinical rounds, designated clinics, and interdisciplinary conferences
• Present patient information and treatment outcomes to the care team
• Contribute to ongoing staff education and educational programs for students, volunteers, and other healthcare personnel
• Mentor and train new staff members
• Serve as a clinical instructor for senior-level physical therapy students
• Participate in the development and implementation of new rehabilitation programs
