Job Details:

• Must have up to 1 year of Level 1 trauma experience
• Care for pediatric patients ranging from newborns to 18 years of age
• Wide range of patient experience required including respiratory and gastrointestinal cases
• Must have experience with tracheostomy patients and patients on home ventilators
• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients
• Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
• Interact with patients and families to share care plans during hospitalization and at time of discharge
• Inform patients and families of hospital procedures
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
