Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Position specialty: MS/Tele unit caring for adult and geriatric patients 18 years or older with a variety of medical and surgical related illnesses requiring acute care treatment and intervention
• Patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and/or oxygen saturation via remote telemetry
• Patients requiring peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis
• Patient ratio of 1:5 days, nights, and weekends
• Float required to 3rd or 4th floor med/surg tele units
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• One of the following is required: 2 on-call shifts per 6 weeks OR 2 additional shifts per 6 weeks
• Guaranteed hours based on signed contract
• Orientation hours: 36
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferred; will consider 1+ year on a case-by-case basis
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS
• Required skills include: cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, central line care and management, heparin protocols, chest tube management, PCA, PICC line management, peripheral line care and management, isolation precautions/PPE, non-invasive airway management, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Cardiac monitoring performed via Mindray system
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Must pass Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test and Medication Test on the first day of orientation — one attempt allowed
• Shaving may be required to pass fit testing requirements onsite
• Attendance policy in effect: more than two missed shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract cancellation
• All requested time off must be included on initial submission — RTO requested after the fact will not be considered
• 75-mile radius rule applies — local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
• Pending license accepted but must be obtained prior to start date
• Previous permanent staff cannot return to this facility system as a traveler
