Med Surg RN Job in Hilo, HI

You will work a 13-week contract as an RN providing medical-surgical care at Hilo Medical Center. This position offers flexibility in your schedule, with day or night shift availability to be determined upon placement.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide RN-level med/surg care for adult patients 18 years and older
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 on the medical unit
• May float to surgical pediatrics or transitional care units as needed
• Work with clinical equipment including Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes
• Scheduled for 36 hours per week following your first full week of orientation
• Work various shift lengths and days with flexibility required

Requirements

• Active Hawaii nursing license required by assignment start date
• 2+ years of medical-surgical or higher level of care experience
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Professional nursing attire with closed-toe shoes mandatory; no specific scrub color restrictions
• Flexibility with shift lengths and days

You will earn $2,102.40 per week. This assignment runs 105 days, starting July 20, 2026.
