Job Details:

• Assess the needs of each patient before and during surgical procedures while maintaining patient safety
• Develop, implement, evaluate, and document individualized care plans for patients during surgical procedures
• Supervise activity in the operating room and anticipate and coordinate schedule changes
• Assemble equipment and supplies and assist anesthesia as necessary
• Monitor sterile field throughout surgical procedures
• Provide leadership to the OR team
• Communicate with patients, families, physicians, OR team, supervisors/managers, and ancillary departments
• Participate in staff development through preceptorship, in-services, educational meetings, staff meetings, and continuing education opportunities
• On-call required 1-2 nights per week
• Every third weekend required
• Must be willing to float to General OR
• 3+ years of CVOR experience required
• Open heart experience required
• Prior travel work experience required
• Candidates must reside outside of a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA)
• Active Michigan nursing license required with LARA and/or Nursys verification
• Skills checklist current within one year pertinent to CVOR specialty required
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required
