Echo Technologist Job in Smithfield, NC

You will work as an Echo Technologist at University of North Carolina Health Care System in Smithfield, NC. This is an 89-day travel position starting November 9, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
• $1,344 per week

Role Overview

You will perform outpatient cardiac ultrasound studies, generating high-quality ultrasound images of the heart and vascular-related structures. Your work supports patient care from pre-procedure assessment through post-procedure monitoring and transport assistance as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiography and stress echo procedures with demonstrated competence
• Conduct patient assessments and deliver pre- and post-procedure care
• Maintain current CPR certification and emergency cardiac care readiness
• Calibrate and maintain ultrasound equipment daily
• Record all equipment maintenance and quality assurance monitoring
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and report problems to your supervisor
• Prepare procedure rooms and equipment for daily use, ensuring efficient turnaround between procedures
• Monitor and record patient information using Epic systems
• Compile data for charge entry and prepare reports
• Retrieve and manage stored information from automated systems
• May assist with staff training and education as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of current Cardiovascular Sonographer or Echocardiographer experience
• RDCS or CCI registration required
• Epic experience required
• Stress echo room experience highly preferred
• Current CPR certification
• Allied Health Professional credential
