<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - ICU</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)<br>• Every other weekend requirement with 4 weekend shifts per pay period<br>• Night shifts include Friday and Saturday weekends, day shifts include Saturday and Sunday weekends<br>• First to float when low census occurs<br>• Must take and pass dysrhythmia examination within two attempts with 80% passing score<br>• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS<br>• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1-2 in ICU based on acuity/staffing, 1:3-4 in PCU<br>• Must titrate all critical care drips including pressors, paralytics, sedation, anti-arrhythmics, heparin, and argatroban<br>• Required to read and interpret EKG strips independently<br>• Must be able to troubleshoot and assist with ventilator weaning<br>• Experience with IABP and Prismaflex CRRT preferred<br>• Must have strong EKG reading skills and ability to interpret ABGs<br>• Float rotation includes PCU, MST, and EC ICU/PCU as needed<br>• Work with various patient diagnoses including COVID, post-surgical, cardiac procedures, sepsis, DKA, and trauma cases<br>• Manage complex equipment including EVD, chest tubes, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, CRRT, and VAD devices<br>• Holiday requirement: 1 winter holiday and eve of another holiday<br>• Possible call placement during low census (approximately 1 time in 6 weeks)<br>• Professional scrubs required (any color except camouflage, transitioning to navy in October)<br>• 8-hour general hospital orientation plus unit-specific training with preceptor<br>• Charting system: Cerner</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This regional medical center operates a comprehensive critical care service line featuring a 12-bed CVICU, 8-bed COVID unit, 8-bed MS ICU, and 16-bed PCU with capacity for double occupancy.
