Description
<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - PCU Stepdown</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM<br>• Every other weekend requirement<br>• Holiday coverage as needed to meet unit needs<br>• 33-bed stepdown unit with 1:4-5 nurse to patient ratios<br>• Care for patients ranging from young adults through geriatrics with conditions including sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, and complex medical issues<br>• Required to titrate drips including Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, and Insulin<br>• Must read and interpret telemetry strips<br>• Float to Medical Surgery, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care as needed<br>• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS<br>• Navy blue scrubs required<br>• Pass/Fail exam during orientation requiring 90% to pass<br>• First week classroom orientation followed by 2 twelve-hour shifts on the floor<br>• Work with BiPAP and Airvo respiratory equipment<br>• Use EPIC charting system<br>• Driver's license required and must live outside 50-mile radius<br>• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove will result in contract termination<br>• Handle busy patient flow with admissions and discharges within same shift while completing shift change responsibilities</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This healthcare facility operates a 33-bed progressive care unit that serves as a stepdown from intensive care, providing intermediate-level monitoring and treatment for patients with complex medical conditions.
