About this role
URMC Strong Memorial Hospital is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to join the IR Neuro team in Rochester, New York. This is an 89-day travel assignment beginning July 6, 2026.
Role and Responsibilities
- Work 4 x 10-hour day shifts with weekend and holiday coverage as needed
- Participate in on-call and callback responsibilities 1–2 times per week and 1–2 weekends per month
- Select exposure factors and positioning to produce diagnostic-quality radiologic images
- Operate all x-ray equipment, CR and DR systems, and use Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS
- Assist the radiologist during interventional procedures
- Instruct and prepare patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations
- Administer oral contrast as needed per examination protocol
- Complete assigned procedures in a timely manner
- Maintain medication security and patient confidentiality
- Answer technical telephone inquiries from physicians and hospital personnel
- Provide healthcare services to patients of all age groups
Required Qualifications
- Allied Health Professional credential
- Two years of experience in radiologic technology, with neurosurgery or neuroscience experience required
- Current New York state technician license
- BLS certification from American Heart Association
- AART certification
- VIR (vascular interventional radiology) experience preferred
Compensation and Assignment Details
You will earn $3,718 per week for this 89-day travel assignment. The role offers the opportunity to work in a major academic medical center with exposure to advanced interventional radiology procedures in a neuro specialty.
