Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• Holiday shifts required as needed
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Travelers are first to float to support all Treasure Valley Med-Surg areas
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4
• Unit has 34 beds on a Medical Surgical Neuro floor
• Common diagnoses include stroke, spine/back surgeries, cranial surgeries, neck surgeries, medical neuro disorders, neuro intervention procedures, Guillain-Barré, Myasthenia Gravis, seizures, and EEG monitoring
• Average patient length of stay is 2-5 days
• Neuroscience NPs staff 24/7 to provide support for all neuro surgery and neuro intervention patients
• CNAs available at a 1:8 ratio
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow, and Trachs with RT available as a resource
• Charge RN on each shift with no assignment; House Supervisor supports the entire hospital
• Charting system: EPIC
• Must have more than 3 years of experience with a solid Med-Surg or Telemetry background; stroke experience preferred
• Ortho/spine/stroke experience is a plus; neuro experience is highly preferred
• BSN required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), NIHSS
• No specific scrub color required as long as clean and professional
• Orientation includes 2 days of unit/department-specific orientation plus a didactic day with a unit-based educator
