ED - Emergency Room

RN - ER

Job Details:

• Work in a critical access hospital emergency room with 10 acute/swing beds
• Staff includes 2 RNs, 1 CNA, and 1 registration clerk per shift
• Emergency department features a trauma bay, 2 treatment rooms, and 1 triage area
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process
• Assess patients' physical and psychosocial conditions on an ongoing basis
• Develop comprehensive patient care plans reflecting nursing diagnoses and interventions
• Implement patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare team members
• Evaluate patient outcomes and effectiveness of care plans
• Complete accurate and timely documentation using manual and automated information systems
• Demonstrate current working knowledge of emergency equipment, instrumentation, and medications
• Initiate assessments based on patient presenting problems and physician medical diagnosis
• Collect key information from patients, families, laboratory reports, and other medical sources
• Implement T-System documentation including assessment and nursing diagnoses
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions as ordered by providers
• Act as liaison coordinating patient care activities with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals
• Provide patient and family education after assessing learning needs
• Participate in performance improvement and risk management activities
• Comply with personal protective equipment requirements for exposure protection
• Attend meetings and in-service sessions as directed
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
