PCU RN Job in Tucson, AZ

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is recruiting a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at BUMC Tucson. This is a 89-day travel assignment beginning July 13, 2026, working 3x12 night shifts at $2,582.10 per week.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care across two campuses of BUMC Tucson, with the secondary campus located approximately 10 minutes from the primary facility at 1625 N Campbell Ave. Your assignment involves floating throughout Adult Health units including Observation, Med-Surg, PCU, and Intermediate Care (IMC). You may also be floated to the Emergency Department or PACU to care for Adult Health patients with inpatient orders awaiting bed placement.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs
• Review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data; report abnormal results to physicians and caregivers
• Formulate and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Delegate and supervise activities of licensed and non-licensed healthcare team members
• Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching; revise care plans as needed
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely
• Participate in shared leadership, quality improvement initiatives, and education of facility personnel, patients, and families

Requirements

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona
• Minimum one year of acute care experience as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area, with experience within the past 12 months
• Level I Trauma and large hospital experience required
• BLS certification required
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently; may lift up to 75 pounds
• Bachelor's degree and professional certification preferred
