ED Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 13-week contract position with an ASAP start date of July 6, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3x12 night shifts per week
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week (except during unit closures)
• Weekly pay: $2,300.40
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• On-call requirement: 12 hours in a 6-week period with 30-minute response time; 2-hour call back minimum

Role Details

• Primary location: Emergency Department (18-bed unit with stroke certification)
• Float to Merrill, Antigo, Medford, and Stanley as needed
• Manage 3–4 patients per nurse in a fast-paced environment
• Perform lab draws, nebulizer treatments, and independent patient care
• Work with cardiac, neuro, pediatrics, geriatrics, and respiratory patients

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of travel nursing
• Trauma Level II experience required
• WI RN License, BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS (ARC or AHA)
• EPIC charting experience
• Pyxis medication dispenser experience
• Associate Degree or Certificate in nursing (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
