RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work in a 10-bed Open Heart Intensive Care Unit (OHICU) providing care to critically ill and postoperative cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, and general surgery patients ages 18 and older
• Every other weekend (EOW) schedule required
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday coverage as needed
• Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• May float to all ICU floors and med/surg floors if needed
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (AHA or ARC only)
• Must pass EKG exam on the first attempt - failure risks cancellation
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Perform and assist with procedures including invasive hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator management, arrhythmia monitoring and intervention, advanced cardiac life support, pacemaker/ICD management, IABP management, CRRT, ventricular assist device (VAD) management, and ECMO
• Manage and care for patients with diagnoses including CABG pre/post-op, TAVR, cardiac valve surgery, dissecting and post-operative aneurysms, VV & VA ECMO, Tandem heart, Impella, thoracotomy, LVAD, pulmonary hypertension, and pericardial window
• Operate specialized equipment including Hemospheres/Accuman, Impella, CRRT, TVPs, ECMO, Tandem, LVADs, IABP, Swan, and ventilators
• Key skills required include arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, CVVHD/CRRT, emergency medications, interpretation of ABGs and dysrhythmias, pulmonary artery/Swan Ganz monitoring, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and ventilator management
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility - candidates must be made aware prior to submission
• RTO maximum of 7 days per contract
• Orientation is 8 hours
