Respiratory Therapist Job in Wausau, WI

You will work as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, Wisconsin. This is a 13-week contract assignment with 3x12 night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, offering 36 guaranteed hours per week at $2,462.40 weekly.

Your responsibilities include:

• Manage ventilators and conduct patient assessments using Assess and Treat Protocols
• Provide emergency services for Rapid Response and Code Blue events
• Float to all patient care areas of the hospital, including the ED and general care areas
• Care for patients of all age groups, including pediatrics and NICU patients
• May float to other Central locations with advance notice
• Operate equipment including V60 BIPAP, Hamilton G5 and C1, and ISTAT
• Document care in the Epic system

You must have:

• Active Wisconsin respiratory therapy license
• Associate degree or certificate in respiratory therapy
• NBRC RRT certification or CRT with RRT to be obtained within one year
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Advanced NRP certifications
• Minimum 3+ years experience with pediatrics and NICU
• Previous travel healthcare experience
• Residence outside a 50-mile radius of the facility

Additional expectations:

• Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Closed-toe shoes and any color scrubs required
• Clean appearance; no smoking or scents in the workplace

Start date is May 4, 2026. You will be part of a hospital dedicated to patient care across multiple service lines.
