Med Surg RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in Medical Surgical nursing at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing in Saint Louis, Missouri. This is a 12-week travel assignment starting August 3, 2026, with the option to extend to 36 or 48 hours per week.

Schedule and Environment

• 4x12 night shifts
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call duties
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Float within service line as needed
• Maximum 7 days RTO per 13-week contract

Patient Population and Care

You'll care for acute medicine patients including those with diabetes, renal issues, COPD, abdominal rule outs, and cancer patients not currently receiving chemotherapy. The unit serves adults and geriatrics but does not care for surgical patients. You may perform bedside procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertion, and simple suture or debridement.

Required Skills and Certifications

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Relias EKG exam—Interpretation and Management of Dysrhythmias (required)
• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Blood product administration
• Central line blood draw and PICC line management
• Chest tube management
• Heparin and insulin administration
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry
• IV placement and maintenance
• Wound care
• Epic charting system experience

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience
• Med/Surg Telemetry experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility

Compensation and Logistics

Weekly pay is $2,782.43 with guaranteed hours. You'll receive 24 hours of orientation. Scrub color is navy blue.
