Med Surg RN Job in Albany, GA

You'll work as an RN in the 2C Observation Unit at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, a 22-bed medical surgical setting where you'll care for miscellaneous medical observation patients in a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover.

Your Role:

• Manage patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6 with a charge nurse in staffing
• Handle up to 16 discharges per day with frequent admissions
• Perform your own EKGs and draw your own lab work
• Manage heparin drips as needed
• Work with 2 CNAs when staffing allows
• Float to medical surgical units as needed
• Work in a heavy telemetry unit with central monitoring

Schedule & Requirements:

• 3 shifts of 12 hours on days
• Every other weekend requirement
• Rotate holidays with permanent staff
• No call or standby requirements
• 12-hour cancellation policy every 2 weeks
• 3-shift unit orientation provided

Credentials & Qualifications:

• Current RN license required
• BLS certification required (ACLS highly recommended but not required)
• BSN degree not required

Unit Details:

• No ventilators on unit
• MEDITECH charting system
• Dress code: Caribbean Blue scrubs (top and bottom) OR White top with Caribbean Blue bottom OR all white scrubs
• Strict 75-mile radius rule applies
