Medical Lab Technician Job in Linville, NC

Join Charles A. Cannon Jr. Memorial Hospital as a Medical Lab Technician on a 91-day travel assignment. You'll work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, earning $2,016 weekly.

About the Role

You will perform a comprehensive range of laboratory procedures supporting patient care across all age groups. Your responsibilities include specimen collection, processing, and preparation; blood banking procedures such as ABO/Rh typing, antibody screening, and crossmatching; and transfusion reaction workups. You'll conduct CBC manual and differential testing, urinalysis with manual macroscopic and microscopic components, and microbiology procedures including culture plating and gram staining.

PCR testing for flu, group B, MRSA screen, and staph aureus will be part of your daily work, along with rapid test kits for RSV, strep, H-flu, and C-diff. You'll perform venipuncture and phlebotomy procedures, quality assurance review, and control interpretation using the Epic EMR system.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of medical laboratory experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Phlebotomy experience required
• Recent Epic charting system experience required
• Current certifications: ASCP, ASCP MT, ASCP-MLS, or ASCP-MLT
• Valid BLS certification
• APTA Neurology Certification or AMT certification

Assignment Details

Start date: December 7, 2026. Assignment duration: 91 days. This is a day-shift position at a community hospital setting where you'll work with diverse patient populations including adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
