Registered Nurse - Operating Room @ MedStar Montgomery Medical Center

<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - OR</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Work 3x12 day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM<br>• Weekly orientation on Monday with ASAP start available<br>• 2 years of General Surgery experience required<br>• Travel experience required<br>• BLS certification required<br>• Call required - up to 12 hours per week (Monday 7 PM through Friday 7 AM) and 12 hours of weekend call (Friday 7 PM through Sunday 7 PM)<br>• Every other holiday required<br>• Scrubs provided by facility<br>• Care for patients of all age groups: adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics<br>• Handle approximately 25 OR cases daily in 7 operating rooms<br>• Skills include appendectomy, arthroscopy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, laparoscopic procedures, mastectomy, total joint replacement, and specimen handling<br>• Must be comfortable with code response, fire safety, infection control, and universal protocol procedures<br>• No more than 7 days RTO permitted per 13-week contract<br>• Must complete facility-specific modules within one week of contract signing<br>• Two supervisor references required</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This medical center features a comprehensive surgical department with 7 operating rooms handling approximately 25 cases daily.
