Occupational Therapist Job in Kapaa, HI

Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist for a 91-day travel assignment in Kapaa, HI. You will work 5x8 day shifts and earn $2,774 weekly.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and treatments for Activities of Daily Living (ADL)
• Assess patient strengths, range of motion (ROM), and functional capabilities for both inpatients and outpatients
• Develop and implement written occupational therapy treatment plans under physician referral
• Conduct therapeutic activities including sensory integration, orthotics fitting, psychosocial functioning, and upper extremity motor functioning
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation for all services rendered
• Provide patient and family education on occupational therapy recommendations and techniques
• Participate in discharge planning and coordinate follow-up with community agencies
• Supervise use and maintenance of occupational therapy equipment and tools
• Conduct in-service training for hospital staff and participate in continuing education programs

Requirements:

• Must obtain Hawaii Physical Therapy license upon hire
• Required to attend mandatory training sessions, committee meetings, and emergency drills
• May be required to transport patients in hospital van when necessary

Holiday pay is based on hours worked on New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Your assignment begins July 20, 2026.
