NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with available shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Night shift hours are 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with every other weekend requirement
• First to float when needed
• Level 3b NICU with 16 beds, expanding to 20 beds
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:3 for feeder/grower patients
• Float to Labor & Delivery or postpartum to care for babies as needed
• 2 to 3 shift floor-specific orientation provided
• Charting system: Cerner EMR
• Monitoring equipment: Philips (no monitor tech on staff)
• Ventilator experience required: Aveya, bubble CPAP, Vapotherm, and oscillator
• Administer all types of drips as needed
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 and pharmacy available 24/7
• Charge nurse support available; no nurse aides on unit
• Care for patients across all gestational ages including premature infants, sepsis, cooling therapy, and substance abuse/withdrawal cases
• Experience with cooling therapy preferred
• Ability to attend deliveries preferred
• Spanish-speaking skills preferred
• Minimum 2 to 3 years of Level 3 NICU experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• BSN not required
• Scrub color: Navy
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Holidays worked in coordination with permanent staff
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
