ED - Emergency Room

RN - ED ER

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
• Active nursing license required at time of submission
• Work in a 25-procedure room emergency department with 8 hallway beds utilized 24/7 and a 4-bed secure psychiatric annex
• Patient ratio of 4:1 with flexibility during times of acute surge
• Every other weekend schedule required for contract labor
• No floating required
• Provide care for patients with complex conditions including NEHI (New England Heart Institute) patients, complicated heart conditions, DKA, sepsis, trauma, and stroke
• Perform procedures including trauma care, stroke care, laceration repair, orthopedic trauma, ultrasound-guided IV insertion, IO insertion, eye exams, EKGs, psychiatric care, and cardiopulmonary care
• Work with equipment including ultrasound IV skills, Lucas Device, Hotline Rapid Infuser, Alaris pumps, and Pyxis
• Utilize Sunrise/Allscripts EMR system
• Work with protocol-based written policies driven by chief complaint, with ability to order complete workup of labs, EKGs, X-rays, and medications
• Dress code requires scrubs with no hooded shirts or sweatshirts
• Strong communication, assessment, and critical thinking skills required
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and EKG interpretation preferred
