Med Surg RN Job in Kirksville, MO

Northeast Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Med Surg on the Swing Bed unit. You will work night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, three days per week, with weekends required.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care for up to 10 inpatient rehab (Swing) patients
• Manage patient assignments with a 1:10 patient ratio
• Absorb med/surg patients if swing bed volume decreases
• Float primarily to med/surg; may float to other units within your existing competencies
• Participate in on-call coverage as volume supports, with no more than 48 hours of call-off time included in your standard contract

What You Bring:

• Current RN license and active BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Rehab and/or Med Surg experience required
• Ability to work night shifts and weekends
• Flexibility to float between units and adapt to changing patient volumes

Assignment Details:

• Start date: July 13, 2026
• Duration: 91 days (13 weeks)
• Shift: 3x12 nights (6:00 PM to 6:30 AM)
• Weekly pay: $1,971
• Swing bed unit consists of 10 beds
• EMR system: MedHost
• Scrub color: Any solid color
• 48-hour weekly guarantees and blocked scheduling requests may be accommodated
• No week on/week off scheduling

Swing bed patients require less nurse-intensive care than traditional med/surg patients but demand the same clinical skill set. You will work in a supportive environment where your flexibility and experience directly contribute to patient outcomes and unit operations.
