Respiratory Therapist Job in Bethel, Alaska

You will provide comprehensive cardiopulmonary services to patients of all ages at Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation in Bethel, Alaska. This is a rotating shift position with guaranteed 40 hours per week, offering 182 days of travel work beginning July 8, 2026.

Your responsibilities include:

• Perform airway management, CPR assistance, intubation support, and ventilator operation and management
• Conduct arterial blood gas (ABG) procurement and analysis, chest physiotherapy, and patient suctioning
• Collect respiratory samples (RSV and AFB) and perform pulmonary function testing
• Operate and manage adult, pediatric, and infant ventilators
• Use equipment including bag valve masks, pulse oximeters, suction devices, oxygen cylinders and concentrators, nebulizers, and supplemental oxygen delivery systems
• Operate treadmill and stress testing equipment, EKG machines, Holter and event monitors, and ISTAT arterial blood gas analyzers
• Read and interpret physician orders, technical manuals, and hospital policies
• Document therapies administered and maintain accurate patient records
• Assist with revising procedure manuals as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum one year of clinical experience in respiratory treatment within a hospital setting
• Graduate of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Therapy program or equivalent approved by the National Board for Respiratory Care, with an Associate Degree
• Current NBRC credentials (CRTT, CRT, RT, or RRT)
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications encouraged

You will earn $2,628 per week. This role offers you the opportunity to deliver respiratory care across all patient populations in a rural Alaska setting while maintaining a structured 40-hour work week.
