PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Monday through Friday schedule with call requirements during the week, weekends, and holidays
• Mix of 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts available
• Manager creates schedule 6 weeks at a time
• Call required approximately every 5-6 weekends
• Holiday call required
• Float between Pre-Op, PACU, and Phase II departments
• 25-bed unit with nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3
• Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery experience required
• Must have experience in both Pre-Op/PACU and Phase II
• Common cases include orthopedics, bariatric surgery (laparoscopic and robotic), general surgery, urology, hand and feet, spine, GYN procedures, and sports medicine, as well as preparing patients for cath lab, IR, TEE, and radiology procedures
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Trauma Level 2 facility
• Acute care setting
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Pass/fail open book exam during orientation with a required score of 90% or higher to pass
• 1 week classroom orientation for RNs followed by 1 week of department-specific orientation
