PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 4x12-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM
• Call requirement of 12-24 hours per 6-week schedule block
• 1 holiday shift required per contract
• Patient ratio of 1 nurse to 2 patients across all shifts
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience required
• PACU is open and staffed 24/7, receiving all specialties except open heart surgery
• Average daily census of 65-85 patients with 26 beds
• Fast-paced, high-acuity environment with many critical care patients, especially Neuro
• Must be comfortable working in a large, fast-paced facility
• ICU/PCU background preferred
• Patients served include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Charting system: Cerner (required)
• Floating within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals is required
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, and BLS
• Required skills and surgical services include:
   - Neuro
   - Ortho
   - Peripheral Vascular
   - Thoracic
   - Urology
   - Gynecology
   - Plastics
   - Intubated patients
   - Pediatrics
• Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
