PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Full-time position
• Float position requiring flexibility to work across multiple units
• Coordinate and implement patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on assigned units
• Obtain and record initial assessments and establish priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
• Reassess patients systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care for patients
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcomes
• Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning
• Perform various Point of Care testing procedures
• Delegate unit work assignments and coordinate team assignments based on patient and unit needs
• Serve as a resource to visitors, physicians, and staff
• Required certifications: TNCC, CPI/De-Escalation (CPIDE), NIH Certification, BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)
• Additional certifications may be required based on units where floated
• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license required
• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing required
