Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Shift options include 8 and 10-hour shifts with 40 guaranteed hours per workweek, three 12-hour shifts with 36 guaranteed hours per workweek, or four 12-hour shifts with 48 guaranteed hours per workweek
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Staffing ratio of 1:5/6 on days, nights, and weekends
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Daily census of 24 patients across 20 rooms
• Floating within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital is required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required (screened at 1.5 years)
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Indiana state license must be in hand prior to submission - no pending licenses accepted
• Locals (Indiana residents) are not accepted for this position
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Charting system: Cerner (preferred experience)
• Scrub colors: red top and black pants

• Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line care and management, chest tube management, CVA care, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry and remote monitoring, PCA, PICC line management, phlebotomy, IV placement and management, colostomy/ileostomy management, and insulin administration
• Preferred experience with patient diagnoses including thoracentesis, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, CVA, hypoxia, electrolyte imbalances, hypertension, small bowel obstruction, altered mental status, and renal failure
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary
