PCU RN Job in Bismarck, ND

You will provide direct patient care in the Progressive Care Unit at CHI St Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center, working 12-hour day and night shifts. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning May 18, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,286.36.

Your Role:

• Work three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating shifts occur no more than weekly
• Every other weekend and every other holiday requirements apply
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac conditions, post-cardiac catheterization patients, EP studies, pacemakers, ETOH withdrawal, COVID patients on BiPap, and general surgical patients with cardiac history
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5 (occasional 5–6 on nights; PCU-level care overflow at 1:3)
• Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitroprusside, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and low-dose Dopamine
• Read and interpret telemetry and cardiac strips independently
• Float to medical-surgical units for full assignments and assist with ER holds and boarding as needed
• Work with respiratory equipment including BiPap, tracheostomies, and Airvo devices

What We Need From You:

• Current RN license (BSN not required)
• PCU experience with demonstrated ability to read cardiac strips
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Two orientation shifts on Friday and Saturday of your first week; you will work independently by Sunday

You may wear any color scrubs. Travel experience is welcome, including first-time travelers.
