RN - ER Float Pool

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts in emergency department settings
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Float throughout Zone 1 facilities within a 60-mile radius of Colorado Springs, including Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Medical Center, St. Francis InterQuest, St. Mary Corwin, and St. Thomas More
• No home base facility - facility assignment may be provided 1-2 hours before shift start via Just-In-Time scheduling
• Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance
• Must be in state for week of orientation even if first day modules are remote
• Responsible for obtaining housing that makes floating throughout the full 60-mile zone feasible
• Treat 40-168 patients per day depending on location
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
• Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
• Administer standard ER medications and common drips
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry independently as no monitor technicians are available
• Will be trained to perform Point of Care lab testing
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Technicians available to support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor, and assist in triage
• Must wear navy blue scrubs
• 2-3 days of unit/department specific orientation provided
• Charting system: EPIC
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NIHSS, TNCC
