Interventional Radiology Technologist

Job Details:

• Work a 4x10 shift schedule with call responsibilities on nights and weekends approximately 8-10 shifts per month
• May be required to work overtime as needed
• No travel or trauma experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and ARRT (RT)
• Assist physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose, monitor, and treat simple to complex conditions without surgery
• Perform procedures including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, angiography, device implantation, biopsies, thrombectomy, embolization, and pain management
• Utilize highly specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and invasive procedures
• Act as a scrub tech while assisting providers during procedures
• Maintain a strict sterile field adhering to safety protocols
• Assist in preparing patients for procedures and providing comfort
• Respond to patient and family inquiries regarding diagnostic testing and expected result timelines
• Collaborate with team members to provide exceptional patient care
• Conduct post-testing quality reviews to confirm all required elements are completed and documented
• Transfer images and data to the appropriate electronic health system and prepare studies for physician reporting
• Perform quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting, and equipment maintenance per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines
• Assist with quality assurance, audits, and performance improvement tasks as requested
• Provide on-call clinical coverage outside regularly scheduled hours on weekdays, weekends, and holidays as assigned
• May support academic partnerships by engaging in teaching of radiology students
• May serve as a departmental preceptor to provide instruction and mentorship to new or less experienced team members
