CVOR Registered Nurse Job in Saint Louis, MO

Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Operating Room (CVOR) in Saint Louis, Missouri. You will work a 3x12 day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 6:15 AM to 6:45 PM, with on-call requirements as needed—approximately 3–4 weekday and 1–2 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule. Response time from call to clock-in is 40 minutes standard, with a maximum of 60 minutes for emergency cases.

Role Details:

• Scrub and circulate for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases
• Support transplant procedures (liver, kidney, pancreas) and Whipple procedures
• Float within the service line as needed
• Proficient with CensiTrac system for missing instrument entry
• Chart in Epic system
• Navy scrubs required

Experience and Credentials:

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience; 1 year considered with Level 1 Trauma Facility background
• Heart and lung transplant experience required for night shift roles
• Trauma Level 1 facility experience required
• BSN preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required

About the Department:

The CVOR department operates 16 OR rooms and handles urgent and emergent cases as the region's highest level of care, serving adult patients. You will work with a team managing cardiac and thoracic cases as the primary focus, along with vascular procedures (open and endovascular), transplant cases, and complex abdominal surgery.
