Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required with potential for more frequent weekend shifts based on need
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• No on-call or standby requirements
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity using an acuity tool to balance assignments
• Charge nurse available on each shift without a patient assignment, with unit leadership support available day and night
• CNA support available at a 1:8-10 ratio
• Remote telemetry monitoring in place; RNs must be able to read telemetry strips
• RT equipment includes CPAP, high flow oxygen, and BiPAP occasionally
• Charting system: EPIC
• Floating to like med/surg units at local hospitals required; travelers are first to float
• No specific scrub color required as long as scrubs are clean and professional
• 1 shift of unit-specific orientation following hospital orientation and 1 didactic day with unit educator
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of med/surg experience
• Must be proficient with central lines, NG tube management, ostomies, drain management, and professional communication
• Experience with CBIs and foley management preferred
• Must be able to care for multiple specialty surgical patients including bariatric, urology, colorectal, vascular, gynecological, plastic surgery, and cystic fibrosis patients
• Required certification: BLS
• BSN not required
• Active Idaho nursing license required for submission
