Registered Nurse - MS/Tele @ IU Health Fishers Hospital

<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>RN - Med Surg Tele</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• 2 years of nursing experience required<br>• First-time travelers accepted with more than 2 years of experience<br>• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS preferred<br>• Indiana state license required and must be in hand prior to start date<br>• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays<br>• Weekend coverage required<br>• 24 hours of orientation provided<br>• Patient ratio goal of 5:1 with charge nurse out of staffing, may flex to 6:1<br>• May float to ICU/PCU or ED to take med surg patients for holds (unlikely but possible)<br>• Care for adult and geriatric patients with wide variety of diagnoses<br>• Unit receives 8-12 admits over 24-hour period from OR/ED/ICU downgrades<br>• Handle post heart cath patients, total joint replacements, urology, and general surgery patients<br>• Work with dialysis patients (run by dedicated dialysis nurse)<br>• Experience with telemetry monitoring, wound care, central line management required<br>• Skills needed include IV starts, blood product administration, chest tube management<br>• Previous charge experience preferred<br>• Charting system experience preferred (Cerner)<br>• Community hospital experience preferred<br>• Two supervisor references required</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This community hospital features a single medical surgical unit with 32 beds serving as the primary med surg department. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and transportation.
