Certified Surgical Tech - CVOR Tech

Job Details:

• 5-day, 8-hour shift schedule with multiple shift times available: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM (Monday - Friday) or 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM (Monday - Friday)
• Perform technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients
• Prepare patient skin for surgery in accordance with established standards
• Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique
• Provide comfort and support for pre-operative patients while demonstrating sensitivity to patient care and privacy
• Transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite
• Position patients according to the type of surgery
• Identify and care for biological specimens
• Prepare the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to type of case
• Establish and maintain the sterile field, pass instruments and sutures to the physician, and assist as directed
• Use physician preference cards as a starting point when pulling cases and setting up the OR
• Proficiently scrub a minimum of 3 specialty areas including but not limited to transplants, open heart, urology, neurology, and robotics (highly preferred)
• Service lines include GI, general surgery, urology, gynecology, vascular, orthopedics, neurology, robotics (XI, DV5, and ION), reconstructive plastics, and podiatry; cardiovascular experience a plus but not required
• Minimal pediatric patient population
• Maintain proper traffic control, dress codes, and adherence to OR sanitation policies and procedures
• Adhere to Universal Barrier Precautions for both patient and own safety in all patient care situations
• Demonstrate clinical expertise in the use and care of all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment
• EPIC experience highly preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a Surgical Technology program or accredited LVN/LPN program required
• 2 or more years of experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA only)
• Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN License required
