PCU Registered Nurse Job in Atlanta, GA

Grady Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Atlanta, GA. This is a travel nursing position offering 3x12 night shifts over an 89-week contract starting July 6, 2026.

Position Overview

You will provide progressive care nursing services on a medical step-down unit with 16–20 beds. This role supports patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and care, bridging acute and general medical-surgical nursing.

Patient Population & Responsibilities

Your patient assignment will be 1:4. You will care for patients with a range of conditions including:

• Sepsis and infection management
• Heart failure and hypertensive emergency
• Respiratory failure and COPD
• Chronic kidney disease
• Type 2 diabetes
• Substance abuse
• Status epilepticus and encephalopathy

You will monitor vital signs, administer medications, manage drains and catheters, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and provide patient education as appropriate to the intermediate care level.

Requirements

• Current RN license (state of employment)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• ACLS certification (required)
• BLS certification (required)

• Weekly pay: $1,847.75
• Contract options: 36 or 48 hours available
