RN - Acute Care

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour rotating shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Day, night, weekend, and holiday rotation required
• 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the emergency department required
• One year of acute hospital experience as a registered professional nurse required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification, NIHSS (AHA or RQI only)
• New York State RN Licensure required
• Apply nursing theory, technical, and communication skills to deliver high quality patient care
• Assess patient needs and identify urgent or emergent care priorities
• Perform primary and secondary patient assessments for all age groups
• Utilize invasive and non-invasive procedures and therapeutic interventions to manage life-threatening and routine emergency situations
• Conduct triage and assign priority of care in accordance with ESI triage standards
• Assess physiological, psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs of patients and families
• Document and report any suspicion of domestic violence or abuse across all age groups
• Provide patient and family education regarding diagnostic procedures, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Update patient communication boards throughout the ED stay
