Histology Technician

Opportunity:

Histotechnician - SFMC - Pathology Lab Tech

Job Details:

• 8-hour night shifts from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• No weekend requirements
• No holiday requirements
• No on-call or standby call requirements
• Work in a high-volume histology lab within the Pathology department
• Charting system: EPIC Beaker
• Required certifications: ASCP certification - Certified Histotechnician (HT) or Certified Histotechnologist (HTL) via ASCP; BLS not required
• No scrub color or dress code requirement
• Travelers work alongside a trainer daily and are not left alone during orientation
• Must have proficiency in microtomy, embedding, and ability to perform re-cuts
• Experience with troubleshooting difficult blocks and maintaining case integrity required
• Skills required include special stains, tissue specimens, cell cultures, microscopic exams, routine histology, CLIA, IHC, frozen sections, routine maintenance, microtome, surgical pathology, technical procedures, immunofluorescence, and hematoxylin
• Strong detail orientation and ability to maintain case integrity in a high-volume setting required
• Acute care setting
