Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day/evening shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM
• Schedule consists of 3 shifts per week with 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Function as a vital member of the OR team in the scrub position during surgical interventions
• Demonstrate proficiency in surgical procedures across a variety of services
• Demonstrate knowledge of various surgical equipment and instrumentation
• Assist team members by setting up and maintaining a sterile field
• Demonstrate proper use of instruments, suture, and stapling devices
• Follow correct and safe technique in the use of surgical equipment
• Follow appropriate procedures for obtaining, returning, cleaning, and disposing of equipment
• Prepare according to surgeon preference card and procedure
• Report and recognize faulty equipment and unsafe conditions
• Accurately perform all sponge, needle, and instrument counts at appropriate times
• Save and properly identify all specimens according to department policy and procedure
• Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations
• Maintain a safe environment by implementing technical and aseptic practices according to AORN Standards
• Required certifications: BLS
• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology required
• Current Washington State Surgical Technologist license required
• National Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists required
