Med Surg RN Job in Hilo, HI

Hilo Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse for a 13-week Med Surg assignment on the night shift. You'll work flex scheduling with various shift lengths and days, with 36 hours scheduled per week following your first full week of orientation. This role requires flexibility and adaptability to meet unit needs.

• Night shift position with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:8
• May float to Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit as needed
• Work with medical equipment including Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes
• 2–10 years of nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Active Hawaii nursing license required by your start date of June 29, 2026

Assignment Details

You'll receive orientation for each unit you work. Please note there is no guarantee of hours or specific shift preferences. Professional nursing attire is required. You must arrive Thursday before your start date for a Friday employee health appointment.

Requirements

• Proof of flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exception prior to contract start
• Hawaii nursing license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• 2–10 years of Med Surg nursing experience

Weekly pay is $2,102.40. The 13-week contract runs through mid-September 2026. You'll work nights with the flexibility and scheduling demands that come with acute care nursing in a hospital setting.
