PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as an RN in a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit (K7 floor, K Tower) at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of June 29, 2026. You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, on an every-other-weekend schedule.

Compensation and Schedule

• Weekly pay: $2,102.40
• Shift: 3x12 days
• Duration: 91 days

Role Responsibilities

You will care for patients with neuro and trauma conditions in a unit with patient ratios of 4:1 at grid and 5:1 when stretched. Your day shift team includes 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC. You will perform neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tube management, PCA pump administration, IV infusions, lumbar drain care, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions. You will use equipment including IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, tracheostomy support, and patient lifts. The unit uses Cerner EMR system.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Neuro and trauma care experience required
• Navy blue scrubs required

Additional Information

You will work with a team of 95 staff members across all shifts and may float to stepdown units and med-surg units as needed. You must be a team player with a patient-focused attitude.
