ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• Holiday coverage filled in as needed
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Position is part of the Clinical Support Unit RN Float Pool covering ER, ICU, MedSurg, Tele, L&D/PP, and NICU across three facilities
• RNs will only float within their specialty and will never float to a lower acuity unit
• Travelers are first to float and may be floated mid-shift to different units and facilities whenever there is a need
• Unit assignment provided via app approximately 1 hour before shift start
• No self-scheduling; block scheduling attempted but not guaranteed
• 3 shifts of inpatient orientation provided following a meet and greet on day one
• Charge nurse present on all units; float pool has 7 assistant managers with one always on call 24/7
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: ER 1:4, ICU 1:1-2, MedSurg 1:5, Tele 1:4, Peds 1:3, NICU 1:4
• Nurse aides and patient care techs available on units at ratios of 1:8-10 depending on floor and day
• Required to titrate drips in ICU, ER, Tele, and MedSurg settings
• Must read and interpret tele/monitor in ICU, ER, and Tele units
• Charting system: EPIC
• Acute care setting
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required along with previous travel experience
• BSN not required
• No specific scrub color required; clean and professional appearance expected
• Required certifications: BLS (required for all), ACLS, NIHSS (required for Tele and Critical Care)
